Zoltan Bathory: "In this world, we could be progressive and write nine-minute songs but..."

The focus on songwriting was always the foundation?
First and foremost it has to be our songs. It's not a collection of riffs coming one after the other. You have to write actual songs. In this world, we could be progressive and write nine-minute songs but the world is too fast and people have ADD and they just simply can't pay attention [laughs]. There is sort of a format and music became like a ringtone - you have 30 seconds and that's all you've got.
